Saxons do well but lose at Wimborne
Although it wasn't a running game, the Gos backs and forwards did well as a unit to produce some well worked moves, one of which resulted in the Gos try.
The scorer in the 25th minute was Alex Duncombe. From a scrum against the head the ball passed out from stand in scrum half Loz Wadham along the line to outside centre Tom Lynn who off- loaded in the tackle to full back Zak Harper. The ball came inside to Barney Barnes to chip over the Wimborne defence for Alex Duncombe to run onto from 15 yards out to score.
Unfortunately the conversion crept passed the far post, which made the score 7-5 after Wimborne scored a drive over try in the 15th minute.
With six Wimborne substitutions in the second half and the Saxons having no replacement backs, they held Wimborne and to their credit the only scores against them were a penalty and a well taken drop goal from the Wimborne fly half.
